Scallion ginger fish

I am never a fan of cooking fish at home as I prefer to have fish in the restaurant. Partly because I am not good in cooking fish. Tonight I decided to give Scallion Ginger Fish a try after learning how easy it is from a friend.

True enough, the dish is so easy to the extend even my 10 years old son finds it easy to cook.

  1. 500gm fish fillet
  2. 3 stalks of scallion cut into 2-inch size
  3. 3-inch old ginger sliced thinly
  4. 4 tablespoon of olive oil

  1. 1/2 tablespoon soya sauce
  2. 1/2 tablespoon oyster sauce
  3. 4 tablespoon water
  4. 1/4 tablespoon sesame oil
  5. Pinch of salt
  6. 1 teaspoon sugar
  7. 1/2 tablespoon cornflour
  8. 1/2 teaspoon of white pepper

Marinate for the fish – min 10 mins:

  1. 1 teaspoon of cornflour
  2. 1 tablespoon of Chinese cooking wine
  3. Pinch of pepper

  • Heat up the oil and fry the ginger until fragrant
  • Add in fish and stir-fry till half cook
  • Add in the sauce and stir-fry for a while. Add a little water if the sauce is too dry
  • Add in the scallion and stir-fry until cook
  • Serve immediate when it is still hot

    1. Hi Tofubyu, I actually don’t know the names of the fish that I use 😉 I leave that to my friendly fishmonger to find the right fish. All I tell him is I want to do this… And he will recommend the right fish. Cod fish should be alright to as it has almost no bones. Cut them into slices and then cook accordingly. Good luck and enjoy the cooking 😉
