Day 3 started with the morning in Dolce Bita Pension where we had simple breakfast at The Cafe. After breakfast, we had a wonderful and memorable time exploring the surrounding area while taking photos in the cool summer morning.
Towards the late morning, “Appa” sent us out to the Bus Terminal where we took the bus back into Seoul. The journey took us about 1 hour. The bus tickets are available to be purchased in Bus Terminal which is located just right in front of the stop, next to a local convenience store.
Arriving back into Seoul, we head out to Hongdae area exploring the Hello Kitty Cafe for a drink and some snacks since our apartment is not ready for us yet. Note : Just 2 months later, I return back to Seoul and discover The Hello Kitty Cafe have moved.
After that, we check back into Swan House. Andy, the guy who runs the place was kind enough to hold our luggage when we were away at Dolce Bita Pension. Upon arrival, we were surprised to see that all our luggage were already placed back into the Apartment by Andy. Indeed a highly commendable gesture!
Next we head out to Dongsu-gil area for our next adventure. This entire area is filled with various musical theaters of different sizes. Walking alone the street, one can hear various musical running with their lovely songs clearly heard outside the theater. How I wished I have more time to watch some of these musicals…
Our next stop would be AND.Here Cafe (앤드히어 카페), a Cafe belonging to Seungri, the youngest member of the popular K-Pop group, Big Bang. The cafe is said to serve yummy Belgium Waffles so we decided to try that. And the verdict…. Yes! Indeed the Belgium Waffles live up to our expectation. Light and fluffy, there are various toppings available to choose.
AND.Here Cafe (앤드히어 카페) is nicely decorated with Pandas which is also Seungri’s nickname. There is also a BIG Gorilla, a gift from TOP to Seungri which is now one of the famous icon in the cafe.
On level 2, there are an area for outdoor sitting for those who wishes to sit there and enjoy the lovely evening view. There is also a stage with screen for live band / music in the indoor sitting area of Level 2.

After the lovely coffee and waffles, we continue to stroll the area as it was a drizzling yet cooling evening. We finally realized that our last proper solid food was breakfast, hence looked out for a restaurant that catches our fancy. We finally decided to go for Japanese food, hence Abiko Curry is our dinner for that night.
The restaurant served three kinds of dishes, curry over rice, hayashi rice, hashed beef and rice and udon in curry. Each of these has a few different variations to choose from, level of spiciness and added toppings.
After dinner, we proceed our exploration to Nandaemun (남대문) area, walking alone the beautiful river of Cheonggyecheon ( 청계천) and ending in Dongdaemun area where we ended the wonderful evening with supper in a cosy restaurant located in Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DPP) – 동대문디자인플라자 .
Here, we enjoyed Hobakjuk (호박죽), korean porridge made with steamed pumpkin / squash and glutinous rice flour.
We also tried Patjuk (팥죽), Red Bean Porridge of non-glutinous rice and sweet red beans, a dish mainly served on winter solstice.
