Capsicum beef burger served with Japanese vegetable curry

After traveling around for a while, one will start missing home and for me especially is the home cook meal that I usually prepare for my family.

For tonight dinner, I decided to try making homemade beef hamburger that I noticed my picky eater enjoyed so much throughout our recent travel. Served with his favourite Japanese curry and rice, it ensures that he finishes everything on the plate while ensuring that the meal served covers all the daily nutrient 😉

Beef Hamburger Ingredients:

  • 350gm of minced beef
  • 1 capsicum – chopped into small pieces

  • 2 tablespoon of flour
  • 1 egg – beaten lightly
  • Soya sauce – to taste
  • Pepper – to taste

Method :

  1. In a big bowl, mix the minced beef and capsicum together
  2. Season accordingly with soya sauce and pepper
  3. Add in the beaten egg
  4. Add in the flour
  5. Combine well
  6. Divide into 3 portions and shape them accordingly
  7. Pan-fry or grill it for 5 min each side till cook

Vegetable Japanese Curry Ingredients :

  • 4 bowls of water
  • 1 carrot – cut into large chunks
  • 1 red onion – cut into large chunks
  • Half packet of Japanese curry paste
  • 2 small potatoes – cut into slices

Method :

  1. Heat up the pan with 2 tablespoon of olive oil
  2. Add in the onions and sauté it till fragrant
  3. Add in the carrot and cook for 3 mins
  4. Add in the water and the potatoes
  5. Cook for 5 mins
  6. Add in the curry paste and cook for 5 mins till the vegetable is soft and curry thicken slightly

Preparation / dishing the meal

  • On the dinner plate, serve the desired portion of rice (in my case today, I use Japanese rice cooked with quinoa)
  • Serve the prepared beef hamburger with the curry
  • Sliced thinly Japanese cucumber
  • Served hot
