When I fly long haul, I usually spent the long hours on-board the flight by reading C-Novel that I have save for Offline reading. Accompanied by listening to my favourite music, I find reading C-Novel very relaxing vs watching movies. Hence, during my recent flight to Japan, I took the opportunity to re-read 2 novels that I have truly enjoyed by one of my favourite C-Author, Gu Man (顾漫).
I was introduced to the talented author, Gu Man (顾漫) when I accidentally came across FANATICAL while searching for the drama write up on Boss & Me (杉杉来了) a highly recommended C-Drama that was introduced to me. FANATICAL is a website where wonderful ladies work on translating recommended C-Novel for those non-chinese readers like me.
Through the drama, Boss & Me (杉杉来了), later in which I found out is a drama adaption from the novel by Gu Man (顾漫) that goes with the title Come & Eat, Shan Shan (杉杉来吃). This is what subsequently leads me (after completing watching the drama) to reading the translated novel.
Come & Eat, Shan Shan (杉杉来吃) is a sweet love story of Xue Shan Shan, a low ranking staff whom caught the eye of her boss, Feng Teng. Its a story about Shan Shan who belongs to a rare type of blood group and was called to the hospital late one night when Feng Yue (the sister of Feng Teng) when she went into labor and was in critical condition. Shan Shan was called to donate blood to Feng Yue as they belong to the same rare blood group.
In return, Feng Teng got his secretary Linda to deliver lunch to her. The start of lunch being sent to Shan Shan daily by Feng Teng secretaries. The story slowly progress from here where Shan Shan keep trying to fight but failed. Shan Shan finally realized her feeling toward Feng Teng and gradually accepted him. Never the less, there is almost no relationship that is smooth especially when there is a vast different between Shan Shan and Feng Teng’s world. The novel does have a Happy Ending for both the OTP.

Sure enough, the pregnant woman was in a critical condition. Thus, Shan Shan obediently let 300CC of her blood being pumped. The condition of the pregnant woman improved. Shan Shan received many thanks, left the hospital and lamented this while looking at the moon.
“Capitalists really are blood-suckers, heartless, heartless.”
Shan Shan who is deep in thought did not notice a black limousine stopped behind her. The man at the back seat heard her sigh, moved his mouth and then closed the recently opened window.
“Boss, did you just say you want to send Miss Xue back?”
“No need” the man said without expression, “Capitalists are heartless.”
An easy and fun novel, Come & Eat, Shan Shan (杉杉来吃) was my first C-Novel. And definitely a highly recommended novel to read.
