One of my favorite translator, Hoju recently finished the translation of a fantastic teacher-student novel from my what now has become one of my favorite novelist, Mo Bao Fei Bao (墨宝非宝).
Together Forever (只要我们在一起) is a story about the relationship between the teacher-student although it is not limited only to that. A very touching novel, the story actually touches some realistic of live i.e SARS survivor and about coming from a broken family. The pairing of an almost perfect man whom contracted SARS during his days as a surgeon with a naive student with a very complicated family background brings on the lights of how realistic it is in some people’s life. The novel is about the unfairness in life and how both try to overcome those issues put in front of them while protecting the someone that they truly loved.
Thanks to Hoju whom have translated a few of Mo Bao Fei Bao (墨宝非宝) novels, I have come to love her talent in describing the emotional turmoil of the OTP with limited words. Guess that is why I have come to love her work so much over the past 1 year since I started reading her translated work. Words just can’t thank Hoju enough to give me such opportunity to enjoy Mo Bao Fei Bao (墨宝非宝) talented works.
Now, a brief introduction to the novel, taken from Hoju’s post where she first introduce this novel to her followers.
A student and her university professor. But she had seen him once before, long before he was ever her teacher. Back then, she was still only thirteen years old. He wore a white doctor’s coat as he spoke harshly to her, on that night that changed both their lives forever. And now, they have somehow managed to find one another again, and they bring warmth and love into each other’s lives.
