Cinnamon Rolls

It have been a while since I last baked. And I have always wanted to try baking Cinnamon Rolls. After much temptation by my friends whom are into baking recently, I decided to bake as well today.

Adapted from Stay at Home Chef – Cinnamon Rolls 

Ingredients:

  • 50gm soften salted butter
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 350gm self raising flour
  • 1 tablespoon yeast
  • 1 cup room temperature milk
  • 1 nos egg
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cinnamon powder
  • 50gm melted butter for glazing

Method:

  1. In the mixing bowl, add butter, salt, sugar, milk, yeast and egg
  2. Sift in the flour
  3. Using dough hook, turn on the mixer on low speed
  4. Once the ingredients are incorporated,  increase speed to medium
  5. Where necessary add more flour till it pulls away from the side. Dough should be soft and not sticky
  6. In the oiled bowl, allow the dough to proof for 1 hour covered with moist cloth
  7. Puff out the air and roll out 
  8. Brush the dough with the melted butter
  9. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon
  10. Roll the dough and cut into 12 pieces
  11. Place dough onto lightly grease pan
  12. Leave to proof for 30 to 45 mins
  13. Bake in 160c pre-heated oven for 20 mins or till it has turn slightly brown
  14. Glaze with melted butter when it is fresh out of the oven

For my little one, I made the butterscotch chocolate chips version that they loved ❤️
