Chinese Cuisine : Marmite Pork Ribs

I just love ❤️ long weekends where I gain an extra day to spend quality time doing what I love ❤️ which includes whipping up dishes for my boys 😍

Tonight for dinner I decided to make Marmite Pork Ribs, one of the popular fish that we like when dining in Chinese restaurant.


  • 500gm soft ribs / baby back ribs 
  • 1/2 cup corn flour
  • Sesame for garnishing
  • Carrots for garnishing
  • Baby tomatoes for garnishing


  • 2 tablespoon Shao Xing wine
  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 1 egg lightly beaten
  • 1/2 tablespoon coarse pepper
  • 1/2 tablespoon corn flour

Marmite Sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon Marmite
  • 3 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon maltose
  • 100 ml hot water – to dissolve maltose 


  1. Wash and pay dry the Pork ribs
  2. Marinate with the marinate ingredients in the fridge for at least 2 hours 
  3. Heat up the oil for frying
  4. Coat the Pork ribs with the corn flour
  5. Deep fry until golden brown
  6. Drain the oil and set aside the Pork ribs
  7. In the wok, heat up 2 tablespoon of olive oil
  8. Sauté the garlic and ginger until fragrant 
  9. Add in the sauce and bring to boil 
  10. When the sauce is reduce to half, add in the Pork ribs. Mix and cook for 5 minutes until well coated
  11. Dished up and garnish accordingly
  12. Serve hot
