Clams with wolf berries and red dates

Been a while since I had clams. I usually keep a pack of clams in my freezer for my husband to prepare miso soup when I am away from home. Today, decided to whip up a simple dish : Clams with wolf berries and red dates…. because I added a little bit of chili, I was worried that my sons may not like it … fortunately they had truly enjoyed this simple to prepare dish… 😉


  • 500gm clams
  • 3 cloves of garlic – mince finely
  • 2 small chilli (chilli paid) – cut small
  • 1 bowl of Shao Xing wine
  • A pinch of salt
  • 3 tablespoon on wolf berries
  • 4 red dates – sliced open slightly


  1. Heat up the wok with 3 tablespoon of oil
  2. Sauté red chillies and garlic until fragrant 
  3. Add in the wolfberries and red dates. Sauté for 5 minutes
  4. Add in the clams. Sauté for 5 minutes
  5. Season with the pinch of salt
  6. Add in the Shao Xing wine and bring to boil
  7. Cover to cook for 5 minutes / until the clams are open
  8. Dish up and serve hot with rice
